As the weather starts to heat up travelling to various cities this month just seems like more and more of a treat. Not all our travel is domestic this month though, Danette will be travelling to Accra, Ghana to run a leadership workshop. We are so lucky that through work we get to travel and see new places! We are also excited as Kanika’s (our content and marketing coordinator) mum, Sangeeta, is coming to Australia for the first time at the end of the month for two weeks.
As we get closer to summer and the holidays, we encourage you to connect with loved ones and friends. We know that connection is essential if we are to thrive. This month’s theme is ‘How to Strengthen Your Relationships at Work’ and we look forward to sharing lots of great content this month on social media as well as on our Free Webinar on 17th October.
Wishing you a magical month,

Book Of The Month: Big Potential: Five Secrets of Reaching Higher by Powering Those Around You by Shawn Achor
Reviewed by Danette Fenton-Menzies
This month’s theme is ‘How to Strengthen Your Relationships at Work’ and this book is a great read on how to do that and get the best out of everyone.
After all, no one gets to where they are without the help of others. I really love the quote in the book, ‘Big Potential is about gaining a competitive advantage not by limiting others’ success rates, but by raising them.’
This book is about how to create virtuous cycle which is ‘an upward spiral of potential whereby with each success, you garner more resources, which, in turn, allow you to achieve greater and greater successes.’ This is the opposite of a vicious cycle where things just get worse and worse.
What we love about this book is that it is full of great research about how to bring out the best in everyone. Shawn Achor is a great storyteller who links his stories to the latest research. If you are keen to achieve more with your team then this book is a must read.
