ML MEMO: Signature Traits of an Inclusive Leader

Header image for february newslet

Welcome back,

We have had a big few weeks. Lots of workshops, both online and face-to-face. We are now in the middle of birthday season with four birthdays in the next couple of weeks.

As part of our theme this month, The Power of Inclusion, we ran a session on Unconscious Bias.

Unconscious or implicit bias refers to beliefs or attitudes that happen subconsciously. They are mental short-cuts that our brain uses to help with decision-making.

One of the things that triggers unconscious bias is when we speed up, such as when we are trying to get a lot done in a short period of time. When this happens, our brain relies on its shortcuts (as they save time and brain energy).

If we want to make the workplace safe and inclusive for all then it is important to be aware of this and to slow down (particularly when making decisions about people).

We hope you are enjoying our social media posts around inclusion.

Until next time, stay safe and stay magical.
